Choose from lots of table top activities including a craft table

Pretend you’re a fireman, princess or policeman

Cook the tea

Have a quieter moment sharing a book or doing a jigsaw

 

You could even let the children have a go!

 

And after all that enjoy a snack before joining in rhyme time and finish with Hokey Cokey

WHAT is TLC? 

Here at Formby Methodist Church it means Toddlers LIttle Church. 

 

WHEN is it? 

We meet the first Thursday of school holidays. 

 

WHY? 

Well it’s so that older brothers and sisters can join their younger brothers and sisters who come to Toddlers each Thursday.

 

HOW is it different? 

It’s like Toddlers but in a different order.

So we start off with craft and toys in church, followed by a VERY lively and often interactive short story and then all our favourite songs including Hokey Cokey. After that we move to the hall for refreshments and the ‘big’ toys including things like Connect Four and table football for the older ones.

 

WHY do we start off in church?

Well to show that it’s quite a fun place to be.

Nothing scary and you don’t need to be quiet!

Adventurers

Primary aged children 4-10 years

Sunday mornings 10.l5 – 12 noon (during morning worship)

 

Meets from 10.15 am in the Maple Leaf Room with introductory activity.   At 10.30 am we go into Church to join in the first 15 minutes of worship.

Back in the Maple Leaf Room we aim to ‘adventure’ with the children through interactive Bible stories to learn more about God’s love and the teaching of Jesus so that they get to know him as their friend for life.

 

Together we have

Welcome time with games, songs, or hunts for clues

Story time with acting and listening

Craft time to help us remember the message of the day

Snack time with juice and biscuits

News time with shared news to show or tell

Prayer time to say Thank you to God

 

Our staff team are all Church members with experience of working with children and trained in safe-guarding. 

A member of the Creche team can also be available if parents have babies or younger toddlers.

Are you in Year 6 or above?

Enjoy hot chocolate?

Like challenges and chatting?

If you’re free on a Sunday morning you would be very welcome to come and join us. 

We meet just before the Church service at 10.30 am and then go into the Service together for the first 15 minutes or so.  After that it’s off to the Circle Room to make the hot chocolates.

Do you enjoy winning games?  We played one the other week, the highest score won.  If that was you would you try really hard to do well?  There was a twist…….your score was the score that would be given to the person standing next to you ……..does that mean you would really try your hardest to do well?  Should we always try our hardest even if we are not the ones to benefit from it?

The family challenge is very popular  and noisy. In the past we’ve had amazing animals made from junk and enjoyed wrapping someone up as an Egyptian mummy!

Finishing with an AMAZING tea which often includes ice cream and ALWAYS has CAKE!
